English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)

ESOL success

At MEWA, we provide a high-quality English language development program (commonly referred to as English for Speakers of Other Languages, or ESOL program) that encompasses various components to effectively support English language learners (ELLs) in acquiring and mastering English. Our ESOL program includes techniques, methodology, and curriculum designed to help ELLs develop strong English language proficiency in all four language domains (speaking, listening, reading, and writing).

Ms. Josie Minni serves as MEWA’s ESOL Director and ESOL Teacher. She holds a Master’s in Education, a Reading Endorsement, and an ESOL certification.  She brings over 20 years of teaching experience across all grade levels and teaches compassion and patience. Ms. Minni teaches all ESOL lessons for both elementary and secondary students. For grades 6–12, she also serves as their Mentor Teacher, providing individualized guidance and support and acting as an advocate, coach, cheerleader, and assistant for each student.
