MEWA’s K - 5 Elementary Program

How It Works

Our K–5 program combines the structure of a traditional school with the flexibility of online learning—allowing each student to thrive in their own way.

Our highly qualified, licensed teachers work closely with families to create an environment where students feel supported within their strengths, challenges, and interests. Above or below grade-level curriculum placements are available, ensuring every learner is supported at the right pace.

Each week, students participate in live virtual classes with their teacher and peers, building relationships while engaging in core academic subjects. Outside of live classes, students participate in daily online lessons at their own pace. Regular assessments and teacher check-ins help guide progress and adjust instruction as needed.

Whether your child needs more challenge, extra support, or just the flexibility to learn in a different environment, MEWA provides a middle ground between homeschool and traditional school—with parents acting as empowered Learning Coaches and teachers offering daily guidance.

Creative & Digital Enrichment

Our elementary students enjoy access to Art and Technology electives that foster creativity and digital literacy.

Art curriculum is offered to grades K, 2, and 4, while Technology is offered to grades 1, 3, and 5.

Diverse Learning Tools

At MEWA, we integrate supplemental programs such as:

  • iReady (math & reading support)

  • Khan Academy (self-paced enrichment)

  • Epic! Reading (interactive digital library)

  • TypeTastic (keyboard skills)

These tools allow students to extend their learning beyond the core curriculum, explore new areas of interest, and enhance the skills they’re learning day to day – at their pace.

SUPPLEMENTAL SUPPORT

We know that every student learns differently—and sometimes, they need a little extra help! Our elementary teachers offer a robust system of academic support in the form of both online and in-person platforms.

online office hours

If you and your student need some one-on-one support, each of our elementary teachers offer consistent, weekly online office hours.

On Campus Support labs

Live near our campus? Our elementary teachers offer in-person support labs from 12PM-2PM Monday through Thursday! Support labs provide an opportunity for students to come on campus, meet some of their peers and teachers, and get one-on-one help with assignments and class materials.

social opportunities

We understand that families choosing online learning often want meaningful social opportunities for their children—and we’re proud to provide just that! We consistently look for ways to give our students a chance to connect, create, and explore together through optional field trips, hands-on craft days, and fun community events throughout the year. These experiences are designed to help students build friendships, develop social skills, and feel part of a supportive, inclusive community. With MEWA, your child can enjoy the flexibility of online education without missing out on the joy of shared experiences.
