Original MEWA building on Civic drive in Gresham Oregon.
We, at Metro East Web Academy, care about the whole child. We want your children to receive a great education, but we believe that in order for children to succeed in academics, they need to be well socially and emotionally first. Because this is so important to us, we incorporate lessons into our homeroom classes taught by our counselors. These lessons include how to tackle stress in our lives, how to manage anxiety, how to build healthy relationships, and how to understand the perspectives of others. We continue to hone these lessons and believe that through interactions with professionals, our students will grow socially and emotionally.

Metro East Web Academy.
The Metro East Web Academy is an online public charter school approved by the Oregon Department of Education. The school's web-based curriculum meets Oregon state standards and Highly Qualified teachers provide the instruction.
Each academy student receives a personalized education program designed to meet their unique needs.
We allow students to login anytime, anywhere. The online learning is supported in a variety of ways.
Daily e-mail communication with teachers
Face-to-face check-in sessions with instructors
Field trips and community service projects with other academy students
Students enrolled in MEWA will get the best of both worlds - An online learning program designed just for them, and the benefits of being part of a "learning community" with opportunities to interact with teachers, students, and the world around them!
The Metro East Web Academy is specifically designed for students who find a traditional classroom setting does not meet their needs. We continue to develop strategies that support students that feel held back by traditional school as well as support for disengaged, disenchanted, or disenfranchised students so as to harness their interests and creativity in order to succeed. We believe home school students, home bound students, and students who have exited school before graduating will find the Metro East Web Academy a suitable educational option. MEWA staff are keenly attuned to student motivation and recognition, and we take great pride in celebrating student success.
